Network Engineer (NOC) – Kismayo

About the Role

Tayocom is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our Network Operations Center (NOC) in Kismayo. This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing network performance, ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in troubleshooting network issues, implementing security protocols, and enhancing system reliability for enterprise and business clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance, uptime, and security within the NOC environment.
• Troubleshoot network issues, latency problems, and service disruptions in real-time.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
• Implement and manage network security policies, firewalls, and VPN configurations.
• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive network improvements.
• Collaborate with technical teams, ISPs, and enterprise clients to resolve escalated network concerns.
• Conduct regular system audits, network assessments, and disaster recovery planning.
• Maintain detailed network documentation, incident reports, and technical configurations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in network administration, NOC operations, or infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and network monitoring tools.
• Experience with firewalls, security policies, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Mikrotik, or Juniper networking equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows-based network environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
